One of Aotearoa's largest primary health networks — two websites, nine kinds of content and two audiences with opposite needs — rebuilt as a single connected platform the team runs itself, with a plain-English AI assistant on top.
Wild delivered Pinnacle's end-to-end digital rebuild: the public patient website and the practice-network website unified onto one platform, a secure practice portal, and the Ask Pinnacle AI assistant — with governance, auditability and guardrails from the outset.
People supported across six regions.
Member practices live on the secure portal.
Websites unified onto a single platform.
Documents consolidated from two SilverStripe instances.
Content types, now one searchable knowledge base.
A conversational AI assistant, cited every time.
Pinnacle has looked after the healthcare of nearly half a million people for more than three decades — a not-for-profit network of member practices spread across six regions.
It serves two audiences at once, with opposite needs: the public looking for care, and the practices that deliver it. Both were being served by the same sprawl — nine distinct content types spread across two separate websites. When the site couldn't surface an answer, the question became a phone call to Pinnacle staff. Content had outgrown its home, and every update depended on a developer.
Two websites onto one platform a small comms team can manage independently.
Make health information easy for the public to find.
Let practices self-serve claims, remittance and documents through a secure portal.

Accessibility and privacy by design.
Kia hauora te katoa, kia puāwai te katoa.
Everyone healthy, everyone thriving.
We grounded the design in a Māori worldview — health, wellbeing and community held in relationship with land, water and environment. Warmer and more whānau-first than clinical: not a list of services, but pathways to oranga.
Whānau-first and Aotearoa-grounded, less clinical — community, warmth, plants, flowing water and sun.
Not just services, but pathways and journeys to oranga — health, learning and empowerment.
Inclusive language: “we”, “together”, “your pathway” — manaakitanga, whanaungatanga, kotahitanga.
Nine content types and two sites, reorganised behind one mega-menu split by who you are. Switch the audience to walk each pathway.
Brand patterns, hand-drawn marks and accessible colour streams — every component WCAG 2.1 AA.
People type a question in plain English and get a clear, cited answer in seconds — drawn only from Pinnacle's own published content.
It's grounded, never guessing: every answer links back to its source, and if the answer isn't there, it says so rather than inventing something plausible. Personal information is stripped from logs before anything is stored — aligned to the Privacy Act 2020 and HIPC 2020 by design, not retrofitted. A production AI system, delivered on a primary-health budget with costs capped and monitored.
Of responses link back to the original source content.
Real-world attack & safety scenarios tested, incl. red-team.
Independent safety layers — no single point of failure.
Built to the Privacy Act & HIPC 2020, by design.

A plain-English assistant on the public site: clear, cited answers drawn only from Pinnacle's own content.
One platform, run by the team.
